Re: resonance
thats like asking what sound the moon makes...
i believe it depends on temperature and pressure though, but i cant be sure...
one thing i do know is that you are probably the first person to ever ask this

anyway, just promise me you aren't trying to get better mileage with some device that "changes" you gas somehow by vibrating it...

Re: resonance
If anyone knows of any chemistry books that would have this kind of info I'd apprieciate it!

Re: resonance
i looked through my university chem books and found nothing.
then again i didn't take biochem or other advanced chemistry courses.
my thermodynamics book does mention that liquids have resonant frequencies, and you can use them to determine the composition, but that about it.
someone from MIT needs to chime in...

Re: resonance
Is the gasoline resonant? Not really. The waveguide (the long pipe) is a resonator and the fluid allows sound waves to travel but the gasoline itself isn't resonating --- the system of gasoline (the fluid) together with the long pipe (the waveguide) can resonate.
BTW I liked the answer about the sound that the moon makes.
