Newbie TBI Swap Question

Hi Guys, looking for some info. I recently bought an LO5 out of a '95 Suburban, along with the wiring harness and PCM ( 16197427, BJYL ). I'm NOT looking for you Guy's to give me a step by step install lesson, but some direction for a starting place. For now, I'd like to swap on the top end, and do something with the block later. I have a Gen 1 350 that I'll transfer the top end to. The motor is in a 4WD, so I'm looking for Torque mainly. With that said, the motor will use the #193 heads off the LO5, along with the TBI set up, headers w/turbo muff's,single pattern Vodoo cam ( 207/207 @.050, .437/.437, 112 LC ), Granny low 4spd tranny ( 7.05 1st gear ), 3.73's w/35" tires. I've been reading here for awhile trying to absorb as much as I can. Question- should I go with an earlier computer, would it be easier to work with? The '7427 comp has Red, and Blue sockets in the rear. Are they input/output, or engine/tranny connecters. I plan to re-work the stock harness, do I just wittle it down to the sensors I'll need? When I removed the aldl hookup, I cut the wires under the dash. I need to find a wiring diagram to get this figured out. This is probly beyond newbie questions, but I'm just looking for a place to start. In what order would you do this ( read comp to see whats on it, ??????? ). Any links/threads to look for is appreciated. Thanks, Al

The how to 350 swap and the budged tbi treads in the top of this forum should give you all the information.

Re: Newbie TBI Swap Question

Also see the PCM swap thread in the stickies as well. That has info on swapping over to the PCM. If your running a manual, you will also want to at least get a chip with the manual trans option selected for proper operation. You will likely want to also spend a little money on a G1 adapter and prom burner for tuning. The small cam will likely work OK with the stock tune, but for best performance, you will want to calibrate the fuel and spark to the engines needs.
