Re: PLUG ON TRANSMISSION IS OFF ANY HELP WHY
If it's a 4 pin plug, it's for the torque converter clutch, and you'll want it plugged in.
You'll also want to turn your caps lock off.

Re: PLUG ON TRANSMISSION IS OFF ANY HELP WHY
It should be plugged in, but if someone unplugged it on purpose it could be because the torque converter clutch solenoid is bad. Unplugging that plug is a quick fix for TCC problems.

Re: PLUG ON TRANSMISSION IS OFF ANY HELP WHY
All caps is bad netiquette.
If the solenoid is bad and you hook it back up, it could stall coming to stops. A new solenoid is fairly cheap and not all that difficult to install. If you leave it disconnected you could potentially damage the torque converter or the transmission, which would be a much more difficult and costly repair.

2 electrical connectors on a 91...one for the TCC and one for the VSS.

Re: PLUG ON TRANSMISSION IS OFF ANY HELP WHY
Sorry it took so long to reply but where is the VSS located? The plug is just hanging there still and I don't think its affecting anything. The wire is short to, barely gets to the bottom of the engine compartment. Only problem I'm having with my car is it has a rough idle when hot starting. This shouldn't be the cause right? Can post pics later maybe

Re: PLUG ON TRANSMISSION IS OFF ANY HELP WHY
The VSS is vehicle speed sensor. It replaced the mechanical speedometer housing. It is in the rear part of the tranmission called the tailshift like Apeiron side. On the drivers side of vehicle.
