smoke in engine bay PLEASE HELP ME

smoke in engine bay PLEASE HELP ME
I have a 92 camaro 305 TBI and i cant figure out whats wrong with it. It was running really lean and then all of a sudden i got black smoke and the car died when idling. When i try to start it i get white smoke in the upper left hand side of the engine bay does anyone know what this could be?!

that was one of my first thoughts besides fuel pressure regulator but i had to bring it to my friends shop i gave up
