tbi intake questions
im thinking of giving the adapter plate and carbed intake a try rather than just going full on carb. am i gonna need tuning right away? has anyone done this, our stock tbi manifold looks restrictive. also has anyone tried the holley pro jection? they dont look too bad. also does anyone know of a higher perfomance tb? i know there is the holley but from what i understand it doesnt plug right it.

Re: tbi intake questions
I wouldn't go with a carb just yet!
It's a popular mod to put a TB unit on top of a great carburetor manifold. It's a simple swap; it does go great (if you going on the cheap) with a swap to vortec heads while your there.
For a throttle body, you could root around junk yards and try and track down a 454 TB. It's been some years since I've worked these so I'm not sure how plentiful they are any more. If it's hard to come by you could always just hunt down a 350 TBI to put on there.
