Changed Serpentine Belt, Wont Align

I just put on a new Goodyear aligator belt, and it wont align after start. The belt moves forward to the edge of the crank pully and alternator, the rest of the pullies look fine. Any ideas what to do?

Thanks.

are your pulleys grooved? my belt is the same width as my pulleys and they are grooved with lip edges so the belt stays where i put it

I believe if your crank pulley is not groved(just a rounded style) the belt is suppose to run close to the edge, but im not sure as ive never had a pulley like that

Some of them are grooved some not. That may be the problem. I have to check if the groove side of the belt is on grooved pullies. Will try again tomorrow.

its probably not on one pulley properly causing it to walk to the side. groove side on grooved pulleys and smoothe on smoothe.
