350 or big block?
Hi, I really don't want this to sound stupid but im really confused so it might lol. I recently bought a camaro with a 350 TBI that apparently had a rebuild 60k miles ago but it leaks oil and burns a lot of it and runs pretty rough. All I know about the engine is it has an aftermarket cam and also that the ecm cover says hypertech on it lol. I hear of people running 454's and 383's quite often and thought it might be a good idea but buying the engine is a little out of my price range. So ill get to the point and ask is it worth me getting my 350 rebuilt that I know absolutely nothing about (It could even be a 305 im not sure I looked for the casting numbers and found nothing.) or should I go the big block route? Thanks a lot in advance im new to working with engines and im just confused.

Re: 350 or big block?
really depends on what you want. big block will have more power with less money. small block can make good power and have better fuel economy. a 383 is a small block, if you plan to do a 383 with tbi you have to do serious computer tuning. dont know if that is something you want to do. what is the car mainly goign to be used for?
