Fuel pump replacement questions.
Hey guys. Now that I have my engine build and swap done (thank god!) I got everything running smooth. It's a 350 tbi with an open air intake, Edelbrock performer intake, 65lbs/hr injectors, comp cam (don't know specs off hand), headman headers, flow master setup. I know the stock 305 fuel pump NEEDS to be swapped (yell at me for leaving it in for the last 700miles, I deserve it) but I have no idea what type of fuel pump will be good for my setup or even how long or hard it is to swap. Also note, I'm going to get a custom chip burned soon. (I'm running a 88 firebird ECM and PROM right now.)
So yeah, thanks.

Re: Fuel pump replacement questions.
Best would probably be a stock TPI pump. Part # ACD#EP241
Stock TBI fuel pump, 65#/hr injetors @ around 12 psi (stock) supports around 230fwhp.
To support around 300fwhp with 65#/hr, requires around 20 psi of fuel pressure.
By using 18+ psi of fuel pressure, a VRFPR (vacuum referenced fuel pressure regulator) will be a must, otherwise it will run too rich at idle.
To set up for VRFPR fueling in the calibration (tune), requires to upgrade the ECM with the EBL of find a compatible computer that was used to control VRFP.
In my book EBL is the best way to go, plug and play, tune everything you whant http://dynamicefi.com/
Dyno symulator is also helpful to set up, tune the fueling and SA tables.
