Re: turboed 305?

If I remember correctly one92rs said that he's run about a 100 shot of NOS with his stock internals.

If you want to run a turbo on your car you'll probably want to swap out the stock heads for a set of Vortec 350 heads-better flow and lower compression to accommodate the turbo boost

Re: turboed 305?

That'll be a lot more than used and ported Vortec 350 heads with not a whole lot more gains, but if you're set on it go for it.

I'd worry about your transmission as well; the T-5 will need a lot of beefing up (or a total swap-out) in order to handle any kind of real power. They didn't even put them behind stock 350 IROC-Z's for this reason

More boost equals more heat, and more heat means more of the possibility of having detonation, which is what will destroy your engine in a hurry. Keep your air intake and exhaust gas temps as low as possible, while running the proper tune, and the 305 will last you a good amount of time provided it was assembled properly to begin with. Factory turbo buick engines were all cast, and I know guys running upwards of 30-psi in them, and 500 passes later they are doing fine. Yes, 500 passes later, I kid you not...

Re: turboed 305?

did your plans change yet again? What happened to the new heads you were getting?

seriously, you are all over the place with your ideas. What do you want from the car? Also, you've never provided a realistic dollar amount. All we've received is a nebulous response that "money is no object" and what that means to one person here might be something entirely different to another

we want to help you but you've gone everywhere from LS1 swap, to FI to rebuilding the 305 etc etc
