Re: tbi to carb swap question
yes you will need all these parts from a Q jet car
why would you do this?
tbi is a little better on fuel and easier starts especially when cold and so much easier to work on than a carburetor which are commonly problematic and worn out and other issues
i used to swear by carb too, but now that ive owned a tbi vehicle it is so much better easier than carbs
night and day difference better
to convert to carb you would have to drop the tank and swap senders,
remove ECM and wiring
convert to carb linkages and parts, and intake manufold and a carb 87-89 intake is unique to those three years only if you retain the 87 up heads anyways
and there are some other issues too, including that you would need to find and install a large cap HEI distrib
and so on

Re: tbi to carb swap question
Since you live in LA the swap from TBI to Carb will never pass bi annual CA Smog Check. You will not be able to register in CA.
