Hey guys do you think I need a new fuel pump? 85 z28 a couple things have been happening to make me think so. About two months ago I got gas when turning my car on it took a little longer then normal and then just died when about to start up, tried again and didn't even crank, about ten minutes later it started and I drove it to my mechanic and said possibly needs a new pump. On turns like exit ramps if I give it gas sometimes the rpms will shoot up quick but speed will stay the same and today it was taking like 7-10 seconds to start up. what you guys think?

 

forgot to mention. when I turn the key I do hear the fuel pump turn on
