Fuel System issue
Fuel System issue
While I was eliminating things that could be wrong with my fuel system, leading up to the fuel pump, I noticed something off with my assembly line diagnostic link. The issue I am having is my 92 RS will start up literally for a sec or so and then cut off immediately. I disconnected the fuel line to check for fuel coming thru the lines and there was none. I checked the filter to make sure it was not clogged, which it wasn't. I replaced the fuel pump relay, which didn't fix it. I also checked for fuel coming out before the filter too and there was none. The Haynes manual said to check the ALDL and hit it with a battery volt. But when I went to do this, I noticed something off with it. I am attaching pictures below. There is no connector in terminal G like in the picture. I do not want to go volting random terminals in the ALDL without knowing what is what, so any help will be greatly appreciated. I just want to eliminate other simpler fixes before I have to drop the tank to replace the fuel pump.

Re: Fuel System issue
i just did a lot of googlein and every drawing or schematic i found showed a g terminal for fuel pump. I did find one that kinda showed that the fuel pump ran directly off of the ecm, not 100% if thats the case or not. this link in the 3rd post down shows a pic of the G pin being for keyless entry though this is for tpi https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/dfi-...nout-wire.html
also a lot of the pictures say G-fuel pump (if used)
here's another link that says G isn't for the fuel pump

either way you dont have a g-pin hope this kinda helps or some else can further assist

Re: Fuel System issue
at the fuel pump relay look at the wiring. may have to pull the loom back a little. there will be a red wire with a connector on it that goes no where. put battery power to this wire and see if the pump runs. if it does start the car and see if it will run with battery power supplied. the ecm only supplies power to it for three seconds upon start up. after that the oil pressure switch takes over.
