coolant temp sender snafu-why GM?

So I started transferring necessary gadgets from a dead TBI 350 to my Vortec 350 (using a gmpp vortec-tbi manifold) and discovered that the manifold is tapped for a 1/2" npt sender instead of a 3/8" like every other GM product.
Is there an off-the-shelf sender I can buy with a stock-type metripack connector that will fit the 1/2 npt hole?

Use a brass bushing. Get one at any hardware store for a buck or two.
