Fuel Tank Difference

I figured I'd start here, I am going to covert from my Holley 770 carb on my 406 and going to install the new Holley Terminator EFI that uses the throttle body. My question is this, I am going to purchase a new fuel tank and go with an in tank hi performance fuel pump from Carter, is there any difference in the fuel tanks of an original carb car versus an original EFI car for the 3rd gens? I am planning on buying a new kit that has the new harness and sending unit along with the high performance Carter pump to feed the new EFI. I always thought EFI cars had baffling or something in the tanks but from what I am seeing the tanks are the same regardless of the year they are used in, is that true? Thanks for any input.

Re: Fuel Tank Difference

the EFI tanks have a plastic tray the pickup sits in to reduce chance of fuel sloshing away from the pickup sock when fuel is low-carbs don't need this since they have fuel reserve in float bowl.

Re: Fuel Tank Difference

Get a tank from a 91-2 F-body, they all have the plastic baffle.
The early EFI cars didn't unless they were a 1LE, B4C or a TTA.

Re: Fuel Tank Difference

Thanks for the replies, I just wasn't sure when I was looking at replacement tanks, most all said for 82-92 and I thought there would be something like a baffle or something in the tanks for the EFI models. At least now I know what to buy for my fuel system, I would guess that I would use the pickup assembly for the same since it would have the provisions the electric in tank pump all. Thanks.
