so my car seems to have a gremlin. All seems well, the car will crank, the fuel pump clicks on, the injectors have pressure (I have an aftermarket regulator with a gauge), the injectors work (I have applied power to them directly) but they do not fire when cranking. I was able to get the car to run by cranking while spraying brake cleaner into the intake. Once the engine fired and ran for a few seconds, the injectors started working again. unfortunately this seems to have been a one trick pony as when I tried the same cheat again I was unable to get the injectors to kick on.

Thoughts?

Its gotta be a wiring issue or a problem with the ECU right? there arent any relays for the TBI injectors are there?

Make sure that you're getting +12 volts at injectors during cranking. Also, ECM ignition circuit that provides ECM with 12 volts, at plug Pin A6 (pink-blk) has 12volts or higher during cranking and run.
Another common source of no fire is malfunctioning VATS system https://www.thirdgen.org/vats_passkey_system

Do you have spark?

No spark, no injector pulse = failed pickup coil and/or ignition module. Pickup coil problems are common.
