New member in need of HELP
Hey guys,
Im new to posting to this site, but I have been reading alot on it lately.
I am in desperate need of some help here.
I dont own a car, but I have seen some post here with trucks, so I thought Id be ok.
I have a 1989 K5 Blazer that I bought a couple months ago. The previous owner had a GMPP Vortec 350 motor (96-00 style crate) put in it with a GMPP TBI intake and a Holley TBI unit.
I have been having running issues with it since I bought it. After some online research, I found TBICHIPS.COM, and Brian instructed me to change a few things. He said I needed a EP381 pump, a 3 wire o2 sensor since Im running long tubes, a 46mm TBI unit because the Holley was junk, and a custom chip he can burn for me.
After about $1k, I had everything installed in the Blazer. It still didnt run right. After adjusting my timing, it seemed to run a little bit better, but I still have a serious idle issue.
After doing the IAC reset (many times), I can get the TBI to where it will idle about 800 with a 39 IAC count. After I put it in drive, the rpms will run about 650 with a 65-70 IAC count. BUT when I put it back into park, the IAC count does not go back down, and Im at a 1k rpm and everytime I put it back in gear, the rpm is 750. It seems to do right only one time, them idles too high after that.
Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
I am at my wits end with this and Im about to yank the whole motor out and use it as a boat anchor.
Any help will be much appreciated!
