Cross fire injection computer tune
Just curious as if there are any tunes for the crossfire injection computers. My cousin is getting a cam for his and clams that the engine wont run right with a cam unless he gets a lt1 computer and hacks it into the car.

Re: Cross fire injection computer tune
Your cousin received some bad info, the LT1 ECM won't work on his x-fire setup. First it doesn't have peak-and-hold injector drivers that are required for a TBI system. And second, that ECM requires the low & high resolution camshaft inputs from an opti-spark distributor.
I guess third would be that the LT1 ECMs are setup as a sequential injector firing for a MPFI system.
But he is right that he needs a way to tune once the cam goes in.
RBob.

Is smashing it with a rock and getting an intake, carb, and vacuum advance HEI considered a "tune"?
Sorry, admittedly I'm a CFI hater, but isn't the intake system the choke point in the CFI system long before the cam? Fwiw.

Re: Cross fire injection computer tune
I wouldn't even bother swapping the cam if he doesn't have the ability to tune the ECM.
As an example, my car was modded with cam, headers and intake when I bought it years ago and it ran ok. One of the first mods I did was to buy one of RBob's flash ECMs. Just with a tune, the engine went from something like 180-190 RWHP to almost 250 RWHP. The tune is critical to getting the extra performance you expect from mods.
