Throttle body not spraying fuel
Throttle body not spraying fuel
I have a 1990 Chevy k1500 5.7
My truck will crank and crank but no fuel will spray. I checked the fuel pump relay fuse and grounds but seen no problem. My fuel pump isn't getting 12 volts either which is obviously a contributor if not the cause. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: Throttle body not spraying fuel
Well. no power to the fuel pump=no fuel to the engine. Start there.

Re: Throttle body not spraying fuel
Do you have spark when the engine cranks?
Does the fuel pump run for two seconds when the key is turned from "off" to "run"?
No spark, no fuel is a common symptom of a failed ignition pickup coil. The pump should still prime, though.
If it won't prime for two seconds, you'll need to trace the wire harness to find the fault. Don't forget that there's a harness inside the fuel tank that corrodes.

Check ICM on dizzy. When EST goes out you will not get any injector pulse.
