My uncle was digging in his books when he came across a "Firebird Redbook" as he called it. After browsing the thing now he is trying to tell me that my 1988 Formula 305 TBI is only putting out 150 HP. Is this possibly correct??? This is his story:
In 88 the 305tbi was putting out 150 HP, and in 89 with slight improvements the 305tbi was putting out 20 more horse totaling 170. Could this be true??? Help please. Any info greatly appreciated.

That is correct, 89-92 put out a whopping 170HP!
Mine's since been replaced with a 300HP 350.

i read that 88 is when they started getting 170 because of the introduction of TBI instead of carb..i read that the TBI bumped 20hp over the carb...also ive read 88's have a roller setup...also what would be the difference between a 88 and 89? the cam?
