o2 sensor trouble with headers

i went out and bought some headman headers and now that my smog pump,cat.,are all gone. i have just the problem of my o2 sensor sitting in the engine bay. i know my car is running really rich and the damn service engine light is on. please give me some help on this subject on how to get the ser. light off and my car running right and not rich. thanx!!!

you have to have a bung welded into the collector. your local exhaust shop can prolly do this for cheap. while you are at it this is prolly a good time to replace your o2 sensor. being out like that and getting all dirty is gonna kill it anyway.

Definately, what Tim said (don't use the old sensor).

I want to add that you ought to mark on the header exactly where you want the bung welded. Don't just point and say "right about here" to the guy who does it, or you may end up with it pointing at the crossmember when you go to re-install it, like what happened to me (I like to hope that my stupidity can at least help prevent the same things from happening to other people).
