um first open the hood, then, look at the smog pump and all the hoses, then, remove them.............get a haynes manual if ya want but i just ripped mine out like a drunk surgeon
first buy a belt thats 2 inches longer than the one you have.
take off the belt, then remove the pulley on the smog pump. (3 bolts). Actually, this should be easier to loosen the bolts with the belt on .. then take it off.
Remove the air box hoses, and then the box by taking off the 2 screws attached to the back of the pump.
Then a #45 torx head (i think #45) and remove the 2 bolts holding the pump on. Be carefull not to strip the top one. That happened to me and it goes into the engine block and i had to drill it out. Sucked. Drop the pump.
I plugged up the 2 lines for a bit till i get the new headers and seal the pipe going to my cat. And then put the belt back on and route it basically the same way with a few changes. From power steering pump ---> over water pump ---> under crankshaft ---> then straight to the A/C condenser.
Heres the pic of my belt route.

Im trying to figure out what pipe plugs will fit into the stock headers so the AIR pipes can be removed. So far i found a odd fine thread with a 1/2 shaft and 9/16 head. I cant find the thread type exactly.
