Changing O2 Sensor HELP!!

Changing O2 Sensor HELP!!

Hi. I just picked up a brand-spankin-new oxygen sensor - but how do you get the old one out? from above, or below? both ways the brake line is in the way, from about the AIR tubes get ya, and from below the y-pipe works pretty good as a barrier...any changed oxygen sensors before PLEASE HELP ME HERE
btw - I know this may be stupipd...

i got my from underneath with a open end wrech i cant remember what size it was tho...it isnt fun but you can get it i also hear that parts stores have O2 sensor sockets or something you can borrow

You could get at it with an open wrench? Guess it'll work, I dunno how I am gonna get around the flange on my y-pipe-manifold connection....well, thanks though, now I got a direction!

it wasnt exactly easy but you can get to it with a regular open end wrench

I was able to do it from under the hood with an adjustable wrench. You just have to manuver it real good

hey..what i did was i got a ratcheting box wrench to fit around the o2 sensor and slipped it through the wire and through the sensor th the hex part... works like a dream,.

Well, I gave up and got a special socket - yeah, it does work great! And man, do those things stick - I am not weak, and it took a nice sized breaker bar fer me to pop it loose! Wow. I have NO IDEA how anyone could get it with a regular wrench...
