Read the tech article on tuning air/fuel with your o2 sensor and a multimeter (or get winALDL). Stock fp is generally too little causing a lean condition that gets worse with more mods.
I read the artical about using the o2 senor to tune but my question is what fuel pressure is stock and what is for max performance. I have a fuel pressure guage avalible to use so i figure this would be a more affective way of tuning than off the o2 maybe im wrong but even if so i wouldnt mind knowing what stock pressure is suposed to be set at. Hopefully today i can borrow a mitchell manual.if anyone has an idea on this it would be greatly appreciated.

There is no real "set" stock fuel pressure. It appears that GM was pretty random with this, but it is almost always lean. I'm not sure about the LO5, but the max fuel pressure setting on the LO3 is about 15-16 lbs with optimum being about 12-13 lbs if I remember correctly. Opening it up close to full shouldn't hurt anything I believe, as long as the injectors don't start dripping really bad. The ECM is still gonna control the injectors using o2 sensor data. It's just good to have that extra umph for when the pedal meets the floor
