Serpentine pulleys
Have a look at the photo attached (pinched someone else's pic!-sorry!!). Will someone tell me if the pulley in question is the same as the one on a 1988 2.8 V6 firebird?
The reason I'm asking is that mine is missing and our local boneyard has this one in, and no others!! Not too common in scrappies in the UK!!
Andy.

I don't know if this will help but I just measured the one on my LO3 and it is about 3 1/4" at the bigest diameter. May be you could measure the junkyard one and compare.

Thanks Joker RS, it certainly will help!
You wouldn't do me one more favour would you? I am putting in a 350 in place of the 305, since I bought the car without an engine in the fitrst place! So I am trying to work out the cooling system, but since there are no pipes left, it is difficult. I have the 1991 service manual but it is not clear on this. The 2 pipes coming out of the heater-one goes to the radiator (via a black box), the other one goes where? I don't suppose you have a digital photo of this?
Thanks again.

Sorry, I dont have a digital photo but I bet some one does. I have one hose going to the radiator and the other hose goes to the intake manifold near the distributor. Both hoses are fastened to a vacume controlled devise. The routing is kind of complicated to describe. Jprevost(one of the moderators on this board has eliminated the vacume opperated heater controll devise and I believe he just ran the hoses to the radiator and manifold. There are also air hoses from the air pump that go into a black box in the same area as the heater hoses. I wounder if you are seeing these in your sevice manual. I live in a area where they don't enforce emisions laws so I removed the air lines and black box.
Good luck with your project, and keep us informed how it comes out.
