Quick first question

Hi everybody, I am new on the board, I just want to ask you a quick thing:
When I first start my car in the morning, that's the moment when it runs the better, during the warm up time.
Throttle response is very good, acceleration is good... Then when it get warmer, it is not as good, different (delayed throttle response...)
Do all your cars do that or do I have a problem cause I heard a guy saying that during the warm up time his car is not very good.
Thanks for your answers,
Jacques.

throttle response is good because you are probably idling around 1500 rpm already. try holding the gas steady at 1500 rpm when it is warm and then see how throttle response is from there. your car prolly also feels faster when it is cold because the fluids are cold and thick. like the tranny fluid being thick will give you hard shifts. i beleive it is best fora car to be between 180* and 200* for its best performance. dont quote me on that one tho, im not 100% sure

Don't forget, during open-loop you're also running on the rich side. If you have done any mods to make the engine breathe better, TBI's like the slight rich-ness.

put a colder thermostat in and keep the engine cool and you get some of the same effects all the time as in warm up mode...runs alittle faster it seems..after installing the new water pump and i stuck a 180 degree thermo in there the car never gets past 160 degrees anymore and my fan doesnt even work...i have a switch just incase but i never need it
