HP estimate (i know i know but im trying to decide what motor to get)
ok i was thinking about buying a crate motor from jegs that comes with 330hp and 380lbs torque...if i was to take my lo3 and put an lt1 cam in, edelbrock intake, world products toruqe 305 heads what kinda HP numbers would i be looking at? reason im thinking about staying with the 305 is because will all the extra money id be able to get suspension mods and of course a small shot of juice to compensate for the lost power...realistically with that setup on a 305 could i easily outrun the crate 350? look at camaroracer1992s car...13.18 with stock heads and cam...surely id break 12s with the cam and heads and n2...what more would i need? that would outrun alot of ls1s even on the street (unless they can drive really well) i was thinking keep the 305...mod it, get a n2o kit, SFC, LCA, 3.42 rear...what you all think...im not looking for a drag racing car...this will be adaily driven car that can spank a mustang or two when needed...i know with that setup ill easily be able to smoke most sn95 stangs EASILY but may run across some mean *** fox bodies tho...also the exhaust ill be running will be hooker header (shorties) 3 inch high flow cat, to a 3'' 2 chamber flowmaster with either setup...what you all think?

It's not an easy question ot answer. You'd be best getting a rid in my car to see if you like the engine swap but there is so many things to look at. Suspension is definatly something you notice just like going doubling your horsepower and 150% more torque! I don't know how my car would feel with just the 350 in it. Probably pretty sloppy with stock mounts and suspension. I'm scared driving my car in bad weather even though I have no problems with controled drifts (dry or wet).
I did everything in intervals so I usually don't like to say such and such made a huge difference. Take for example my sub-frame conectors. I did them the same time I did my 3 point STB. The only thing I can say is that everything I've done has been an improvement
(duh, lol).
If you know for a fact that you want to keep the car then do the suspension work. If you don't know yet then the motor swap might be a better direction. If it makes any difference; EVERYBODY does suspension work (for good reasons) but when you ask people what they had the most fun with it's almost always with the motor. There is no cheap way around any of it. It comes down to the ever so popular expression, "how fast do you want to spend?"

im definetly keeping the car because i dont feel i could get a reasonable amount of money for it even tho its in really good shape and runs perfect...plus ive already spent alot of $$ just getting everything running right and fixing it when its broken...id definetly like to do suspension mods and maybe for now fix up the 305 and maybe down the road (by the way im still in high school so i cant really afford and engine swap) put in a nice 350 when i have the money to do it right...then the 305 can go in a s10...for some reason i really want a lowered v8 s10 :lala:
