Bought a '91 TBI Camaro with some issues... PLEASE HELP!

Ok guys... I'm buying a '91 Camaro (350 bored .40 Over), and probably picking it up tonight. The current owner told me the car has the following problem:

Now, there is currently a problem with the Open Element edelbrock 14" Air filter. Not really the air filter itself.. but a problem caused by the air filter. The Air Fuel ratios are off because the intake sensor/temp is not properly plugged. ('you know.. the little thingy which plugs into the thingermajig.. and send the info to the comp...')
Do any of you understand this, AND have any clue to fix it?

To see more about the car, go here, I posted this thread early last week.'91 383TBI Camaro

yea, when you remove the stock air cleaner/snorkel,theres a little sensor in it that gets pluged in it. Like you said earlier, it adjusts the Air/Fuel Ratios by how cold the incomming air is.

When I put my open element air filter on, i actually drilled a hole in the bottom and put the sensor in my new one (Just cause i feel beter doing it).

You could just get a new one for the local store if your missing it completely. Just look for a plug hanging out in front of your distributor.

If you get that done and its still idleing like crap, then make sure on the front of your throttle body, that there isnt a vacuum line left open, or a little black hose is not connected to anything.

Tim,

Thanks Man! I'll take a look at that, and see if that is all it is... Sounds simple enough...

BTW, that's a GREAT lookin' car, and you've got a nice site! THANKS!
