freeing up horsepower..
freeing up horsepower..
how much do you guys think i would gain if i put in a new pully? i hear people saying that if you replace the pully for your engine you can free up some good horsepower because the engine is not working as hard now with the new one..
i got the old LG4 engine if that makes any difference..
thanks guys

a pully? I dont know exacly but what would get llike 3 HP from 1 pully? Now if you get the mach 1 performance pulleyies and you had some other mods in your car you might free up about 10HP or more.

One pulley won't do too much, I had a smaller crank pulley but it caused charging problems, ( which wasn't cause it was too small, the way the belts were ran) but you won't notice too much even with all 3 and that's when you might run into charging problems, though March I believe makes a set that won't cause problems. I'd say save the money and invest in some headers if you don't have them or a cat-back.
What the pulley's do is slow down the speed of your accesories and that freeing up of friction (I guess it's called) or power to move the pulley's is lessened freeing up some HP.
