Aaarrrggghhh!!! This Fuel Pump
Sparing the lectures of doing things the right way (it's too late, I already did it...)
I did not have hundreds of dollars sitting around and I also did not have the time or experience to drop the suspension, rear axle, fuel tank, etc., I went the ghetto-******* route and cut a hole in the floor of the trunk of my car. I decided that I would file it down and bolt a piece of sheet metal over it, seal it with some silicone sealant or something, and then mark it "FUEL PUMP", to make a sort of access panel. Well... I make the hole bigger..and bigger... and I still can't get the friggin' thing out. The fuel lines are preventing me from pulling the pump all the way out of the tank and I can't service it. Do I really have to cut the fuel lines in order to take the pump out? It's really starting to frustrate me. Is it okay to cut the lines? What should I use to cut it? (Hacksaw?) What's the best way to couple the lines back together?
Thanks,
David
