Hood selection---Poll
Well I would like a hood so I can have a little more room. I'm maxed out on space right now and have further mods I'd like to make.
I'd also like the added benefits of losing a little weight by having a fiberglass hood.
So here are my priorities with a new hood.
1. Must provide more room in the engine compartment.
2. Must be either cowl or a ram air set up.
3. Fiberglass.
I like the ascd big block hoods. They look sharp. They are NOT functional, but being that it is fiberglass I'm sure I could change that.
I don't really care for a plane jane cowl induction hood. They just don't appeal to me as much, merely for looks, not b/c they don't function as well or anything.....
So what would you choose?
Oh yeah, it's an 84 Z28---L69. It hasn't been painted yet!
Right now I have a Weiand Action plus intake, edelbrock carb (soon to be a Holley 4011 series 650), and a 3 inch K&N filter....there's more in there but that's what affecting my clearance. The air filter rubs against the insulation on the bottom of the hood right now. If I wanted to go with a larger dual plane intake, I could NOT without going with a smaller air filter...
