But the TPS on a carbed engine is located in the carb itself.
If you look where the accelerator pump plunger (sp?) goes into the carb through the top, right next to that is another smaller plunger under the acc pump arm.
This is the TPS plunger. It hits the TPS located inside the carb.
To change it you need to remove the top of the carb, its kinda a PITA.

Thats right
..(doh) I was thinkin my friends was a 90, but its an 87.
Now the real question...cjcland: are you sure its carbed and not TBI?
I dont know many people that would spend the time and effort to install a CCC set up in a FI car.

87 was the last year that it was carbed from the factory! It is a possibility that it got swapped in there but why I dont know? Im betting its TBI since they look somewhat similar to a carb. Find out more then we can help you....
PLEASE BE PATIENT
I guess it is a tbi i bought the car from the original owner and he is 64 now so i doubt any mods were made to it it just looks differant than any fuel injuction system i have seen so i assumed it was a carb, but in the meen time i looked for the postion of the tps from the first reply and all i se is a sensor of some sort going directly into the block with two wires i assumed it was the temp guage, am i looking in the rong place? still, like i said i am very new to this but would like to learn ans i see the post some of you guys post and it seems greek to me but i always up to learning a new language, im not stupid and have takin a real interest in this car and message board at all the poosibilities as far as everything else goes the car is in excellent condition, also what are some of you guys using for speaker boxes in the back and allowing room enough for the t-tops now when i take of the breathern i look downd and there are 2 sensors over the intake are one of these the tps and how does it now the position when it seems they re connected to nothing but wires, thank you and please bear with me

The TPS will be a black sensor located on the opposite side of the throttle-body from the pedal linkage.
It will have 3 wires..one blue, one grey, and I belive a black one (dont have a diagram in front of me) The plug faces straight up.
Its held on with 2 screws, usually torx head.
