Anyone ever burn lobes on a ZZ9 camshaft?

Pulled my cam out today and found that two of the lobes on my cam are SHOT!! I used the recommended valve springs from TPIS. I was going to swap this cam into my new ZZ4 block but looks like i'll be buying a new cam...ZZ9's are'nt cheap either.

Anyone have this problem before? pushrods and lifters look good and straight but the valve spring retainer "cups?" broke into peices on one of those 2 lobes.

Any suggestions on different brand cams that will work great in a TPI setup (52mm TB, SLP runners, Big Mouth Base)?? AFR 190 heads will be on the ZZ4 block.

Cam lobes don't just wipe out on their own, especially rollers. Retainers never fail in a properly assembled engine (well, almost never) and if you have broken those and a murdered cam, then it's not an accident. Something killed it. I'd find the culprit before sacrificing another $275 camshaft. Sounds to me like either you have the wrong valve springs (1.6 rockers instead of 1.5 that the recommendation was for?), retainers hit the valve guides, or some other interference problem.

I used the stock ratio 1.5 rocker arms. TPIS said to just install the valve springs with that camshaft and that was it.
