stalls

When I start my car after it has been sitting for a while it will turn over run for about 2 seconds and then stall out. If i give it a little gas and turn the key it will fire right up. I need to keep my foot on the pedel for about 30 seconds or it will stall. Then it runs as if nothing is wrong. When the car is warm it will not do this. The are no codes and I have a scaner and every thing seems to be normal?
Any ideas????
Thanks!!!!
By the way it is an 85 305 tpi about 75000 miles on it!

Start by adjusting your IAC/TPS

whatever is going on it doesn't happen in closed loop when your 02 is in action.

So I'd assume something is up with to much/little air flow/fuel ?

...or a sluggish IAC motor. The IAC will start to "stick" with only a little dirt on it. This is the difference between a "stuck" IAC and a fully-functional one:

See that little bit of buildup on the pintle rack gear? That's all it takes to "stick" the pintle and prevent it from moving freely to control intake air. Now you see why I constantly harp on a CLEAN IAC for solving idle problems?
