I hate my damn hatch!...
I hate my damn hatch!...
It just started happening one day. I'll pop the trunk, then go to close it and... BAM!... huh?... BAM!... What the hell?... BAM! The damn hatch won't close. I figured out the problem though, but don't know how to solve permanately. The latch itself that hooks onto the bar on the hatch.. theres a spring connected to it, so it obviously can swing back into open position. However it looks like the spring is rather loose, which makes the latch loose. If ya look at the latch ya can kinda see what I mean. So since the latch is loose, it moves underneath the lip of the assembly. So when the bar comes down, the latch hits underneath the lip. When it is suppose to clear it. But somehow it finds it way into the wrong path. So far my solutions have been.. put a tie-tie behind the spring so it holds the latch in place. And the other, was pushing down that button that pulls the hatch down. Then it closes fine. I just wanna close my hatch, not fiddle around just to close it. Any help would be appreciated, this ever happen to you? Gotta get this little problem out of the way.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Yea i had this problem what i did was remove the panels in the rear loosen the three bolts hold the trunk motor down and slide it up as far as possible put everything back and it worked

Thats not the problem, the latch, the hook that grabs onto the hatch, can't clamp down onto it, cuz the hook goes underneath the lip of the assembly, which stops it from moving, and thats why I get the BAM!, its the latch (the hook) hitting the assembly.
Yeah I know what ya guys are sayin, but thats not it.
The hook that locks the hatch down is loose. So the hook can actually go underneath the lip of the assembly (it slips towards front of car, underneath the metal lip). Which blocks the hook from fully clamping down. Look at it, ya can kinda see what I mean.
