faulty gas gauge

Currently, my fuel gauge is at an infinite Full. Although I wish it could be true, I know that it is not. Im sure this question has been asked a million times, but if someone can give me a headstart on where I might search for a new gauge, i'd be appreciative. Addtionally, if anyone has had this problem as well ( seems that many people would as this seems to be a notorious third gen problem), please give me an idea as to what you had to do to alleviate the problem. Thx.

In my experience, the sender in the tank is usually the problem--not the guage.
