Scat rods
Scat rods
I can get a new set of scat 5.7 rods for $150.00 and was wondering if they are any good.
They will be going in a slightly warmed over 305 tpi that will never see 6000 rpms.
The guy said that they were never used and I would not mind getting new rods for the motor.
On a sad note I found 2-rod journals on the crank that look bad, the car had great oil pressure

damn i'd worried about them being any good before i bought them. they'll work for your application just fine, if it had been me i'd bought PM rods from gm and arp bolts, i'd still buy arp bolts since that's really the weakest link in the assembly
Thanks Ede
This is what I found looking up the part # on the rods.
Scat ICR Rods
Forged Steel I-Beam Rods
The ICR I beam rods from Scat are ideal for claimer class racing and street/strip engines. These are new, not rebuilt, forged 4130 steel rods. They come with ARP “Wave Lock” 3/8” bolts and are profiled for extra clearance and weight reduction.
I did a search on here before asking about the rods and it seems that a few people are using their cranks but could not find anything on their rods.
I was thinking that they would be better than reusing the stock rods.
The car will see some track time, but I don’t see the motor pulling past 5300 5400 rpms.
