lt1 question
were lt1's used in cars before the 92 vette?because i have heard a few people say they have lt1's in their earlier like 70's vettes- were they original or no?and if they are original were they still reverse coolant?
sorry im kinda an idiot on what engines were in what.

C-M,
The RPO code for the engine in the early '70s cars was still "LT1". The same "LT1" RPO code was resurrected in 1992 for the revised SBC 350.
The '70s version was a 4-bolt 350, solid lifter in most cases, forged rotating assembly, better intake and Holley carb, improved cam profile, and several other enhancements over the standard SBC 350. Depending upon the car they were installed in, they were conservatively rated around 325 BHP (at the flywheel), but realistically were more like 375. Even a "compleat idjut" could milk 400HP out of them with a little massaging.

It isn't the number of times, but the size that matters... Just ask the girlfriend of an 'F' car driver for verification.
