what is this censer at the bottom of the block by the starter? Do I need it?

I am putting a 406 in my 85 iroc and I didn't know what it was. So should I go buy a new one because the old one in the 305 is busted.

You need a completely different knock sensor for the 400.

what kind of knock sensor do I need? Do I just go to any parts store and ask for a knock sensor for a 400?
