Get Rid of the Cat

I wanna get rid of my cat. I was wondering if it would throw any of my sensors off, and what it would do to my engine overall?? All Ive really heard, is that a cat hogs HP.

Thanks

It won't throw any sensors off (at least it shouldn't), but you probably won't see a big performance gain.
I had a guy on 50th street/Fort Rd install a 3" cat (along with a Flowmaster cat-back), and a cut-out. When I run with the cut-out plates off (muffler and cat by-passed), I don't notice much HP/torque difference.
If you had an older car, with a pellet type cat converter, then I'd recommend gutting it.

BTW, is Alberta going to have emissions tests anytime soon? I had to get that specific shop in north Edmonton to do the work, because a lot of people told me that there might be emissions tests required in a few years.
