Car sounded kinda funny at the track... HELP

Hey

I went to that track on Friday night. I did allright once the weather cooled down a bit. I got the runs recorded and the car sounds really funny going down the track. It sounded really clanky. The exhaust sounded like crap. It was brutle. Im not sure what it could be. The car didnt sound healthy. It was a clunky sound coming from the exhaust. What do u think it could be. Help I dont want the engine to blow or somthing to break.

Thanks

Well it's pretty vague what you are describing here, but I can start out by suggesting doing a basic tune up; Cap, rotor, plugs, etc.

Is the sound coming from beneath you. I'd say check your tranny mount.

Yeah good point, check the tranny mount and also make sure the U-joints are in proper order and greased.

Yeah I dont think if thats the problem.... I think that it is somthing in the engine and the sound is being amplifyed as it comes out the exhaust.
