If you find that it is broken I have a set of window regulators that i was going to use to retro my car to power windows and decided to go another direction. If you need that one let me know and we can work something out.

some pictures of thirdgen power window regulators and misc other window related info are avaliable at:

http://www.geocities.com/modularmoto...n/powerwindows

fourthgen regulators are not interchangeable with thirdgen ones. but they are both "scissor style" regulators and have a very similar appearance. like thirdgens, the holes are predrilled in the fourthgen door shells for both types of regulators, manual and electric.

converting a car from manual crank windows to power windows isn't too bad a job if you spread the task out over a couple weekends.

the conversion process is documented in the webpage listed below:

Ive already sold the motors to a friend who really needed them. I decided I dodn't want to be stuck with windows up or down if the motor decided to crap out. I'm going to go with the spal power window adapters. That fit over the crank regulator and operate them that way. If they ever die I can still use the crank until I get a new motor.

original equipment gm window motors very rarely stop working suddenly without any warning. sudden unexpected failure can usually be traced back to the wiring, switches or failure of the regulator itself.

the manual regulators can fail too and you'll be stuck in the same situation, a window that won't move anymore.
