i put in a new throttle return spring and now...
my idle is high. say im driving and everything is fine. then i get to a stop light and i put it into netural and the idle stays at like 1300-1400rpms. if i rev the engine it will go back down to 1000rpms. i think i might need to lower the idle can somone tell me how to do this im not to experienced with carbs. or does the problem sound like something else?
get some carb and choke cleaner and clean your linkage. SOunds like it might be gummed up. Did you hook your spring back like it was. The way it sounds, you didn't have this problem before you changed your spring. Did you??? There is a screw on the linkage that you can adjust your idle with, clockwise is faster, and counterclockwise is slower. It's really not complicated, you should be able to look at it and see what I am talking about.

i had this problem with high idle just recently, it would stay at 1200rpm+ unless i goosed it, turned out my return spring wasnt pulling hard enough to pull the linkage shut all the way, so i just rebent the spring so it's shorter and has more tension, problem solved.

before there was four springs on there then i order one from summit. last time the problem was i had to add other spring because it didn't have enough tension. but i don't want to do that again. ill try carb cleaner then ill try and rebend the spring.
thanks for the help

First of all make sure the throttle lever has full movement. Put the gas pedal to the floor once ( car off) and then check the throttle position. Can the throttle lever still move forward ( towards the front) ? If so then the return spring is not strong enough to pull the throttle lever back to idle. At that point turning the idle screw isn't going to help you at all.
This is the idle screw
