What are the chances............

That the piston rings are no good if you smelled a little gas in the oil? This is on a zero mile motor. It has just been idled thats all.

if it's a zero mile motor than it's normal. some gas will seep past the rings untill they break in and seat.

A shop assembled the bottm end. And they have been in buisness for a long time and are well known around here. The car was running rich but it hasn't even been driven so the rings haven't had a chance to seat.
