my 1986 chevy camaro motor size 305 5.0 litter, tune port body style f. did not run properly since I bought it. She ran hot and the transmisition went out. I just replaced her. It should be a 700R4, it's been two day now and there is a ticking sound on the passengers side and when I shift the car jerks really hard. you can feel it go from the motor all the way to the back plus she is running hot again.
what can I do!!

running hot .... many problems can cause that. THe main one is not having the air dam (squirrel scraper) underneath the car for air to get into the radiator.
The ticking sound could possibly be a exhaust leak between the manifold and the exhaust port.
I can't explain the jerking without more info. Does it do it in every gear? Does it do it only when your driving it hard?

what does your car idle at? Mine idles at 900-1000rpm..shifting out of park can be a little bumpy.Originally posted by 1982chevycamaroz28

I don't think the trany monts have alot to do with the jerking.
I am stearing toward maybe the shift cables or tork converter.
What do you think?
