Performance meters: G-Tech Pro, G-Tech Competition, or Race-Tech AP22?!?

I've decided to get a performance meter for my firebird...something to keep me entertained until I can get it out to the track some day. Anyways, I have been looking at 3 specific models...

I've heard good reviews about the basic G-Tech Pro model... basic 1/4 time, 0-60, 60-0, etc... Price is also good, for around $120 on ebay

The newer G-Tech Competition is more expensive ($210 one ebay) but has more features such as data logging, computer uplink, etc.

I have also read about another meter, Race-Tech's AP22, which is supposedly better than the G-Tech machines, as it has data logging, comp uplink and the same accessories as the G-Tech Comp., but with a few additions... 60' 330' 660' times, 0-100 times, acceleration times between any two velocities (50-60 mph). It also has built in sensors to compensate for any body movement during acceleration (back end rising or dropping) so as not to effect the overall data. I've seen it on ebay for around $150....almost inbetween both G-Tech models, but with a lot more features. However, it doesn't have backlighting (flashlight would be needed for night runs) and is a bit more primitive looking.

So I have a few questions really.... first off, exactly how accurate are these things compared to actual track times? Anyone run one while at the track? Also, has anybody used the G-Tech Competition or Race-Tech AP22?? I am pretty much decided on getting the Race-Tech AP22, but am still trying to figure out why the G-Tech Competition is so much more if it has less features.

Anyways, please give feedback and let me know your opinions.

That last one sounds nifty. Never heard of it though.

The basic G-TEch is usually I think +- a tenth or 2 in error.
And about 3mph over in the 1/4 time, since it's measured right at the 1/4 mile rather than the avgs the tracks use.

yeah the Race Technology's AP22 sounds real neato... however i just found that the retail price for it is just as much as the G-Tech Comp...around $250. Only saw it on ebay once and I think it has been opened/used :\

There is also a cheaper model, the AC22, however it does not have data logging, nor does it have a serial uplink port like the AP model does.

I figure I'll just try out the G-Tech Pro... they're plentiful on ebay and around $110 or so. I'll be splitting the cost w/ my brother, so if it turns out to be junk (dont think it will tho) I wont be out much. Anyways...when/if I do end up getting it (might be a while...currently restoring my jeep... check it out BTW, http://mywebpages.comcast.net/BAK1/jeep/ ) I'll keep everyone informed as to how it performs

G-tech PRO can be had for as low as $44.95 brand new, I bought two of 'em, works great.

Here: http://saxforte.com/data/gtechpro/Ho...purchase_.html

EDIT: I've now bought 34 of them they sell like crazy over here, works great too.
