Need a little help please

Ok I was going through the board and never really found the exact same problem as what I am encountering. Here goes. Last night my "Choke Light" came on and I know it could be the "Alternator Light" as well but I have a pretty big stereo and if the alternator was shot I would have lost power already. The car runs great except that the only guage that is registering something in the speedometer. The Tach, temp, battery and fule guages are all not working. This sounds like a short but I am not too sure. I was wondering if anyone else encountered this problem? Or if anyone knows exactly how to fix it? That would be great! Thanks! By the way it's an 85 Z28 Camaro with a carbed 305. Thanks

Also another thing to note is that when I have the key in the ignition and the door is open the buzzer goes off to let me know I have left the keys in the ignition. But when I turn the car on I usually get another buzzing that goes on for a few secs then shuts off but I don't get that anymore since the "Choke Light" has been on.

Sounds like your gauge fuse is blown...

the other buzzer is your seat belt reminder.

I had an S-10 did the same thing it was a ground wire that connects to the dash near the parking brake. Got to be near the lower left look for a small ground strap there.
