Need quick answer? average power???

ok, this guy is telling me he put an '87 350 HO from a chevy truck in this camaro. My question... i can't find tech data on this engine (which aparently came directly froma nameless truck... go figure) So what kind of power did it pump from the factory, or is he full of crap, and it's just a plain 350???

*edit btw i didn't have time to get #'s sorry. cc quadrajet on cast iron intake though if that helps

A stock carb 350 from GM in the 80's?? Did they exist? Maybe in trucks, not sure though.

i don't think gm used carbs on anything in 87, 86 was the last year for them, at least in cars. at any rate he didn't make in big HP gains, if any, going to a 350 out of a truck.

I'm willing to bet that guy is thinking that if it came from a truck it must be a 4 bolt.
It's that 010 is the best 4 bolt main 350 crap, which BTW means nothing since I have 010 and it's a 2 bolt main

It's not a HO. Why is it that everybody has to tack that phrase onto everything? It's as bad as the "rocket" thing, or every motor part that everybody sells being a "vette" this or that. It's gotten so bad I don't even call my car a HO any more even though it really is one. What a bunch of monkey-spank. Right on up there with putting "Type R" stickers on a soccer-mom-grocery-cart Civic.

Ifi it is what he says it is, it's a 350 TBI. Major POS. Worse even than what I would call a "plain 350". It has swirl-port heads with the huge obstruction in the intake ports, tiny exhaust ports, etc. IIRC it was good for like 210 HP when new. Sounds like the Camaro came with the LG4, and it has that intake and carb on it.
