Does anyone have any pics? Did you have to do bending? Theres no way you can make it so the fittings go straight back, it looks like you have to do it sideways. There isnt enough of flat surface for the whole thing to clear. Please help, the sump I got is too big for the tank and this is the universal one.

for a universal fit part mine worked just fine. mounted with the outlets facing the rear of the car. don't remember exactely what i did now, but a little trimming and fitting is required to make it work.

Some fabrication/mods to the sump are required. Either putting a bend in it or cutting it shorter so it stops before the bend. Niether of which are a big deal.

Would it hurt to mount it sideways, so the fittings are facing left or right?
Do you guys have any pics of it that you could put up here?:hail:

I would think it would give your problems. Biggest reason being that it'll be impossible to get the fittings to be the lowest point in the tank that way. The bottom of a thirdgens tank is rounded, the flat part where you're talking about welding the sump angles up. You might still be able to get away with it...so long as you keep the fuel above a certain level reletive to how hard you launch...but if I were going through the trouble of welding on a sump I'd wanna do it right.

If modifying the sump really bothers you that much..you might consider just welding a couple $3 fittings right to the tank.

What fittings should I use if I just want to do it to the tank?

Any that are steel in the size of your choice. I used 1/2" NPT. Got them from a local industrial hydraulic supply place.
