Suggestions for aftermarket EFI system

Hello all Thirdgenners,
I am working at an aftermarket EFI company now, and we're considering developing an ECU for some Chevy engine lines.
I want to know what you would like and how much interest there is in something like this. If I get enough replies, I'll post a poll later.
Things to consider would be:
Speed density?
Closed Loop
Wideband Sensor capable
Emissions capable - EGR, AIR, etc...
IAC control
PID Closed Loop, and IAC
Ignition - Electronic HEI control, distributorless?
Tuning capabilities
Fan control
Transmission TCC lockup, 4l60E and 4L80E control capable
Auxilary outputs by RPM, MAP, Temp, etc....
Auxilary inputs

Give us some ideas, hopefully we can make a product that will satisfy all.

Try camaroz28.com those guys are always hungry for new engine management systems.

Or if your company wants to develop a system for the LT1 that could cost under $700 that would eliminate the Opti-spark except for as a crank position sensor..... that would be a BIG thing for us. Because we have to dump $200+ for an opti every year or two and most of them have to pay for labor too.

Not to mention that a distributorless ignition would be just awesome.

If you could incorporate all those into one computer with very simple tuning for all EFI GM V8's that would be great.....

If I could find a EFI system like this, I'd buy it in an instant:
  • 1. FITS UNDER MY HOOD
  • 2. Costs about the same as a carb & intake, and makes as much power
  • 3. Not a PITA to work on (think SuperRam)
  • 4. Crank trigger
  • 5. Distributorless, 4 coil pack I suppose
  • 6. MAF
  • 7. Wideband O2
  • 8. Ethernet connection to laptop (high speed - many samples / second)
  • 9. Easy to program misc paramters... ones I've worked on have been very obscure; I know the fuel & timing tables have to be like they are, but simple things like TC lockup... how about a check box
  • 10. Easy to plumb cold air to
I can't think of much else...

To clarify what we're considering developing is an ECU that is easily programmed, on the fly, and connects to the factory or aftermarket wiring harness. Some things could be disabled if there is no interest in using them - emissions things mostly. Some things would be nice to have user settable - fans, other outputs, whatever. We're working on controlling electronic HEI's now and allowing the spark advance to be adjustable. We've also got a distributorless ignition in the works.
We'd like your input on what features you would like, both in ease of use, and inputs and outputs.
Thanks,
Jeremy
