I was just wondering cause i here how the new LS1's and even the older LT1's were underated by GM to make its flagship Corvette look good. I heard that actually 98+ TA make 350 HP stock on dyno rather than the claimed figure of 305 from GM.
So for instance is my car really rated at 210HP, or is it higher? And i know the best thing would be to dyno it, but i'm gonna have to wait on that for now.
Look at my sig for my car info, thanks!

All the dyno's I've seen, with the possible exception of a few 91-92 L98s that may have just been freaks has been about what you'd expect. The LT1 dynos about where it should. However, you are right, the LS1s are all extremely underrated, a stock 6spd LS1 is sick if it dynos under 300rwhp, no way is that 305 hp crank rating accurate. That is 340+hp easy...

Oh ok, i just wanted to make sure. I guess the new Corvettes and TA are so close mechanically they just had to lie to give the edge to the Corvette, expect for the Z06 which is another level up

Just dyno it if you want to know, don't "wait", there's got to be a convenient place to get it done in your area... it's not expensive, and quite painless actually. Having real numbers is better than guessing, the numbers don't lie.
I think if you get it done at the same time as some LS1 cars or some modded Mustangs, you'll be a bit disappointed in what you've got to work with... thee's basically no way to get a TPi car even to within 50 HP of a LS1 without putting a major wad of $$$ into it.
The other day, a bunch of cars were at the mobile dyno, the LS1s were mostly in the 310-320 range at the rear wheels, the Mustangs were anywhere from 190 HP stock ones up to almost 400, made my little CC Q-Jet carbed 305 look kind of sick at 208
But I have the cure for that.

Well actually theres a place called Detroit Speedworks, thats just about 1-2 miles from where i live, so its really close. I have no idea how much they run to test it, ive heard $100, but it could less or more. And i know they have a dyno system that can handle 1600HP, thats sweet! Not that i'll ever need that...lol.
I know what u saying, i;m hoping when i go there, not a bunch of SC Trans ams, and Camaros pulling 400+HP that day go there. i tell u if i see any sweet looking cars there, i;m just gonna turn around and leave, and come back another day.
The reason i wanna dyno is to see where i stand, cause i hate all these damn figures on magazines and internet, i wanna know what MY car can do, u know. And then from there i can easily figure how much i gain as i mod the car.
To be honest i hope i get at least 200HP, but i think its gonna be less, cause if they say 210HP stock, usually thats from the engine right, so that means like 20HP or more is deducted for the rear-end. So it might actually be 180HP, ouch! lol. Oh well thats why they have things called "mods".
Thanks for reply.
